The Threepenny Review

The Threepenny Review is a quarterly literary and arts magazine, founded in 1980 in Berkeley, California by its editor, Wendy Lesser. Threepenny publishes criticism, memoir, fiction and poetry as well as reviews of the performing and visual arts. Recent contributors include Roberto Bolaño, Anne Carson, Geoff Dyer, A. L. Kennedy, David Mamet, Greil Marcus, Javier Marías, Kay Ryan, Dale Peck, Gary Shteyngart, Dean Young, and many other talented writers.

Jonathan Franzen says, "There are vanishingly few magazines left in this country which seem pitched at the general literary reader and which consistently publish such interesting, high-quality criticism, reflection, argument, fiction, and poetry…Threepenny is thankfully still out there."
