Stephen Kessler

Stephen Kessler is a poet, prose writer, translator, and editor. His award-winning translations of the Spanish poet Luis Cernuda include Forbidden Pleasures, Desolation of the Chimera, and Written in Water.  He is also editor and principal translator of The Sonnets by Jorge Luis Borges. From 1999 through 2014 he was editor of The Redwood Coast Review, four-time winner of the California Library Association's PR Excellence Award. His most recent books of original writing include Where Was I? (prose poems), Need I Say More? (essays), Scratch Pegasus (poems), and The Mental Traveler (novel). He lives in Santa Cruz, where his op-ed columns appear regularly in the Santa Cruz Sentinel.
