MK Chavez


MK Chavez is a writer and a champion of public health and social justice. She is the author of Virgin Eyes, Mothermorphosis, Dear Animal, (Nomadic Press) will be released in October 2016. Chavez is co-founder and curator of the reading series Lyrics & Dirges, and the co-director of the Berkeley Poetry Festival. She has been a fellow at VONA, Squaw Valley Writers Workshop, and Antioch Writers Workshop. Chavez believes in literary confrontation and its capacity to obliterate all forms of oppression. Recent and upcoming work can be found in Story Magazine, Aspasiology, and Foglifter.
